Technical Architecture Lead
Duration: through 6/1/2014, contract-to-hire position
Location: Austin, TX
Notes: US Citizen or Green Card only.
Project/Role:
• Overall Technical Architecture delivery ownership for a large complex Microsoft-based composite application solution
• Identify and define high-level customer requirements for the technical architecture.
• Work with the other architects to explore solution options
• Scope, estimate, design and deliver chosen technical architecture solutions while ensuring adherence to architecture standards
• Help define the performance goals and metrics for the proposed solution. Participate in the performance testing planning, execution, and remediation.
• Review prototypes, solution blueprints, and project scope to ensure that the needs of the business are being met.
• Work with other architects to select the operating alternatives that form the overall operating strategy and business architecture.
• Define an approach to close operating gaps to achieve the defined value.
• Help define the performance goals and metrics for future state architecture.
• Agree upon the content of releases and the technical feasibility of activities to build them for cross release technical architecture initiatives.
• Identify key business process technical and functional risks, and analyze the impact of changes, issues, and risks.
• Align the program architectures and enterprise architecture, and recommend steps to assure business integrity and alignment.
• Align developed or modified capabilities and application components with the overall business and application architecture.
• Identify and resolve cross-capability, cross-release issues, and risks that affect the business architecture integrity.
• Identify and address application and data issues that affect application integrity.
• Provide input to first level of estimate (type of work and order of magnitude impact).
• Engage appropriate application, information, and process architects to create blueprints and provide second level of estimate.
• Manage the Data Architecture team and Data Processes
• Manage the Infrastructure team for environment build-out and maintenance. Perform capacity planning and monitoring of the environment to support APHP development and releases.
• Manage the application architects and their interaction with the APHP workstreams to enforce standards and processes.
• Define SDLC processes including, but not limited to, Continuous Integration builds, automated deployment within APHP environments as well as deployments to client implementations, branching, and configuration management processes.
• Assist in defining the roadmap for the technical architecture including processes around COTS product support and usage.
Skills Required:
•Tech Arch Lead for two or more projects delivering a custom .NET Web Application using Ent Lib
•Tech Arch Lead for one or more projects delivering a BizTalk based Integration Architecture
•Exceptional delivery, leadership and mentoring skills
•Enterprise architecture blueprint development, governance, and management
•Project/program management capability
•Deep understanding of architecture discipline, processes, concepts, and best practices
•Broad technical aptitude, knowledge and experience across application, information, technology, and process domains
•Ability to understand what is happening in the industry in general and product roadmaps
•Strong strategic planning capabilities (approaches, processes, tools, and deliverables)
•Understanding of development and project management processes and methodologies including common roles, responsibilities, and key work products
