Here are the requirement details

 Red Hat Linux Engineer

Location: Sacramento, CA (locals preferred, phone screens & skype-only interviews for non-locals)

Duration: 6 months, possible extension thereafter

 

Mandatory Qualifications:

1. At least seven (7) years of experience planning and architecting complex systems running Red Hat

Linux 4.x, 5.x, and 6.x including virtualization, storage, networking, backup and system security;

2. At least seven (7) years of experience designing Red Hat Linux platforms for high availability in largescale

environments;

3. At least seven (7) years of experience implementing and supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server

(RHELS) version 4, 5, and 6;

4. At least seven (7) years of experience installing, configuring and managing RHELS on a variety of

virtualization technologies (e.g. VMWare, PowerVM, etc.);

5. At least seven (7) years of experience supporting and maintaining RHELS production environments for

mission critical applications;

6. Experience analyzing, troubleshooting, and optimizing Red Hat Linux servers and file systems;

7. Experience planning, implementing, and performing backup, recovery, testing, archiving, and logging

for Red Hat Linux servers using NetBackup; and

8. Experience producing requirements document, system architecture, server configuration, system

connectivity, and procedural manuals.

Desirable Qualifications:

1.     Possession of Red Hat Linux System Administration Certifications.

2.     2. Experience with server fundamentals including kernel subsystems (e.g. scheduler, VM, etc.), system

3.     calls, inter-process communication, process/resource management, and file systems.

4.     3. Experience with TCP/IP and OSI model, firewalls, load balancers and networking switches.

5.     4. Experience with network attached storage devices and RAID. Working knowledge of EMC SAN storage

6.     platforms.

7.     5. Experience with platform specific server virtualization technologies such as VMWare, PowerVM, Xen,

8.     etc.

9.     6. Experience performing system design, installation, configuration and administration services in a lead

10.  capacity.

11.  7. Experience analyzing business requirements and translate them into requirements for system

12.  capabilities.

13.  8. Experience assessing current application and database architecture, and identify improvement

14.  opportunities.

15.  9. Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.

16.   10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
