SAP ABAP Developer

4 months

 

This role requires the ability to work independently and the willingness to collaborate with business analysts to create new and enhance existing business applications in an Agile-like development environment.  Experience spanning 5-plus years developing ABAP applications with a broad-range of SAP modules (SD, WM, IM, FICO, BW) is necessary.  Skills in the areas of ABAP, ABAP OO, IDOCS, ALE, IPC, Variant Configuration, 3rd party platform integration (HTTP, web services, etc.), Smart Forms, and SAP Script are preferred.  Java development knowledge is a plus.

 

This company runs SAP ECC 6.0 with the retail industry solution.

 

 

Primary Responsibilities

• Individual will work together with Business Analysts to design new and revise existing business applications and solutions
• SAP development team is responsible for maintaining and tuning existing solutions as well as designing and developing new solutions for a wide range of projects
• Work collaboratively to design and develop solutions to address business needs

 

Measures of success

• Development projects are completed within timeframes and meet business objectives
• Code installed in production is error-free and does not cause business disruption
• Code follows industry and corporate standards and is well documented and easy to understand for others

 

Skills/qualifications important to success in this role:

• 5 plus years of experience developing in ABAP
• Experienced with ABAP, ABAP OO, IDocs, ALE, and Variant Configuration
• Experience with SAP integration technologies (HTTP, web services, etc.)
• Java development experience is a plus
• Experience with code reviews
• Experience with performance tuning applications

 

Other:

• Able to work well within a team using Agile-like development processes
• Able to work in a variety of SAP functional areas (SD, WM, IM, FICO, BW)
• Able to help further define development standards and best practices for application design
