Job Title: Java Developer
Duration: 6 months to start
Rate: Depending on Experience on W2
Location: Richmond, VA
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Over 10 years programming and systems analysis experience.
• Demonstrated expert knowledge of life cycle through application of complex, mutli disciplinary
software applications, involving complicated technology and integration points.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills; communicate to users, technical peers,
and vendors.
• Ability to work as lead cross-functional team projects with minimal supervision.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science related field preferred.
• Experience in design, code, and support of critical enterprise-level systems.
• Experience in supporting large-scale web applications and enterprise service software.
• Required technical skills:
o Java 6, Jboss 5 or higher, JMS, JEE 5, EJB 3, SQL/Databases (Oracle, Db2, MySQL),
Hibernate or Java Persistence API (JPA), Linux/Unix, Grails, RESTful web services, MQSeries
(WebsphereMQ 7), Eclipse or Eclipse-based IDE.
o Experience and knowledge of transactional systems.
• Preferred technical skills:
o JAX-WS web services, JAXB XML binding, Ant, web security experience such as WSSecurity,
SEAM.
o Experience with real time inventory systems.
o Experience with and knowledge of retail systems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Works under minimal supervision.
• Designs and develops complex and high risk application interfaces/applications.
• Conducts design and code reviews.
• Researches and evaluates business systems of a more complex nature.
• Assesses the business and organizational implications of key technologies and recommends appropriate
action.
• Guides the development team in overall application technology design activities.
• Leads the identification and definition of key architectures, components and interfaces, and data model
design.
• Oversees the development of technical design alternatives and their implications.
• Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or
questions about programs.
• Balance multiple priorities, multi-tasking as necessary. Adapt well to changes.
• Provides support and problem resolution for moderate to complex eCommerce application.
• Teamwork - Promotes, maintains and encourages a close working relationship and a team effort with all
members of the IT Department and user departments involved in the work assignments.
