Applied Architect – Corporate Center Technology Delivery

The architect will help shape & realize the vision and strategy for our Corporate Center solutions, including HR and Finance systems. The architect will help lead the applied architecture effort for new technology introduction, including selection, implementation planning, reference architectures, reference implementations, best practices, and templates.
The ideal applied architect is a self-starter, motivated, intelligent and team-oriented who thrives in intellectually challenging environments, who enjoys solving problems and is passionate about working with team members to create high-quality, leading edge technology solutions.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline/ experience preferred
• 6+ years of professional experience building and maintaining enterprise, large-scale, multi-platform software applications
• 4+ years of experience as an applied architect / lead software developer of substantial, enterprise level projects
• Proven ability to develop relationships and communicate with various levels across business and IT
• Strong knowledge of object oriented principles and design patterns
• Current experience owning the applied architecture effort for a variety of system delivery projects, including enterprise-class systems
• Possess very broad and very deep technical skills
• Broad understanding of technologies, including languages, software design patterns, technical architectures, testing methodologies, databases, system design, and modeling
• Experience with service oriented architecture and applying integration patterns
• Deep knowledge of SDLC principles, processes and methodologies
• Broad understanding of retail business processes, business applications, data flow, and requirements
• Experience implementing commercial-off-the-shelf and SaaS applications
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including comprehension and verbal skills, written communication, conflict resolution, teamwork and cooperation, and relationship building
• Ability to manage and prioritize own workload
• Demonstrated ability to be a team player as well as an independent performer
• Strong mentoring abilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience with implementing & supporting Oracle E-Business Suite of applications (HR and Finance) or other packaged applications
• Familiarity with architectural modeling tools
• Strong software configuration management practices
