Software Engineer

 

Overview:

You will be part of a small team developing a new web application providing a UI, a RESTful service interface, and messaging to other systems.  You will help solve important and challenging problems. Over the course of a sprint, 90% of the time is spent solving engineering problems and developing software.  The remainder is spent in Iteration Planning, Retrospectives, Showcases, and Design Sessions

Required Experience

·         At least five years of relevant systems software engineering experience

·         BS/MS in computer science or engineering (or equivalent professional experience)

·         Experience with distributed systems and asynchronous messaging architectures

·         Experience developing Spring MVC and JPA (Hibernate) applications

·         Comfortable with the Unix command line interface

·         SQL database skills

·         Desire to do pair programming

·         Comfortable with JavaScript

·         Fanatical about automated testing

·         RESTful service design and implementation using SpringMVC

Preferred Experience

·         Test Driven Development (TDD)

·         Experience with Backbone.js is a plus

·         Experience with Chai or similar JavaScript testing frameworks is a plus

·         Experience with Groovy or Ruby

·         Comfortable developing on a MacBook Pro

·         Experience with Spock (Groovy Testing Framework)

·         IntelliJ experience is a plus

·         Experience with Geb or Selenium
