DB2 DBA Analyst with Optim Experience

Bothell, WA

Job Description

·         Candidate will perform Data Archival and Restore on distributed systems ( IBM DB2, Oracle and SQL server…etc.).

·         Ability to work with IBM -Optim tools (Data Growth, Optim Connect etc).

·         Experience with Data Archival on different platforms (Mainframe, Windows…etc.).

·         Experience in analyzing complex databases of different platforms.

·         Experience in collecting archival requirements and implementing high performance solutions for archival and restore.

·         Experience in installing, configuring and tuning IBM Optim components.

·         Experience in upgrading and apply patches for IBM Optim.

·         Hands on experience in PL SQL and Shell Scripting.

·         Hands on experience in implementing heterogeneous connectivity (Oracle Dg4ODBC, MS SQL Linked Server, etc)

·         Unix/Linux & Windows administration knowledge is a plus

·         Knowledge of Oracle & SQL Server Database architecture 

·         Knowledge of server storage types (SAN, NAS, etc.)

·         Knowledge of Database storage 

·         Candidate will make recommendations for compliance based on their experience and knowledge of security principles and practices, and governing laws, regulatio
ns, and industry standards.

·         Participate in continuous process and program improvement that lead to reduced costs, time-to-market and increased predictability.

·         Attend the regular client call and discuss the weekly status with the customers.

·         Communication with the client as required.

·         Escalate the issues about project requirements (Software, Hardware, Resources) to Project Manager.

·         Work with the team to produce advanced metrics and reporting capabilities.

·         Provide timely project status updates, risks and issues to all stakeholders
