Client is looking for a Technical Marketing Engineer to take on the responsibility of supporting application infrastructure and integration (application and data) related to emerging technologies in this space, optimized on Cisco infrastructure.
As a member of the team, this individual will be focused on being and subject matter expert around application infrastructure technologies, Cisco infrastructure and the use cases associated.
As a Technical Marketing Engineer in the integration space, this individual will work cross-functionally across businesses within Cisco in some cases with Cisco Partners and architect, build, test, optimize and validate integration solutions on Cisco infrastructure to create technical content for customers, Systems Engineers and Channel Partners. The Engineer will work closely with Product Management and Engineering influencing the company's future strategies related to their specific area of expertise to achieve corporate goals.
Responsibilities include:
Ability to handle customer and partner presentations independently. Presentations include road shows, EBCs, customer presentations, competitive sales presentation and other marketing collateral.
Ownership of complex projects and the ability to work across different functional groups including product management (technical and business), services marketing and engineering. Evangelizes current technical strategy and direction inside and outside company.
Develop and implement test plans, validation activities, benchmarking test and performance optimization in a lab environment.
Demonstrate ability to master multiple technology areas and create technical documents; White Papers, Competitive Analysis, Customer Surveys, Flash or VOD Demo, POC/Demo labs scripts.
Leverages understanding of customer & market requirements to drive next generation product architecture.
Perform detailed competitive analysis comparing Cisco's Network Virtualization products and Generate technical competitive documents and presentations for internal sales & SE's
Work with product management to provide feedback on product directions, features and also assist the field with technical competitive positioning for key opportunities.
Demonstrated hands-on experience in designing, building, and operating complex infrastructure solutions consisting of server, networking, and storage components.
Closely follow the application infrastructure industry and keep up to date on new and emerging standards and technologies.
Essential Functions:
Architect, test, optimize and validate solution designs and Develop technical collateral in the form of Best Practices Guides, Design Guides, Integration Guide, Implementation guides, technical reports, etc.
Content Maintenance – Perform updates, revisions and removal of content in the engineers area of expertise and ensure currency of technical content, Materials subject to maintenance include: Technical
Reports, PPTs, FAQs, White papers, etc.
Advanced Training – Develop technical training contents in the form of PPT presentations, VOD, Demos, and Webinars in the engineer's area of expertise, Training audience will include Cisco Field personnel and Channel Partners.
Education and Self Development – Continue to develop Subject Matter expertise through external and internal training and excel as a technical evangelist in the engineer's area of expertise.
Customer Interaction – engage with Cisco Sales when required and provide subject matter expertise / demo's and participates in Architecture design sessions with Executive briefings with the customer.
The Engineer is expected to perform lab management tasks in maintaining the lab equipment setup and tear down for your projects.
Collaborate on strategy with product management to create and review Solutions Requirement documents (SRD), Reference Architectures and Solution Guides, and Test Plans. This includes participating in cross functional teams to develop product and solution roadmaps.
Education:
Minimum Bachelors in technical field w/study in Marketing and/or Business
MBA Preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years DIRECT experience with application integration SW, SOA and/or Enterprise middleware
- At least 3 years in technical marketing role or combination of 5 years total in lab/test environment + product mgmt./marketing.
