Responsibilities also include:
·Work closely with Business Requirements Analyst to understand and document business needs for decision support data information repository needs
·Work across the TIS areas to ensure the Semantic Component is manageable, extensible and supportable.
·Provide oversight and guidance in the design the data warehouse Dimensional/Business Logical Data Model, including the definition of conformed metrics and dimensions as well as the build out of the Data Warehouse Bus Matrix
·Oversight of the physical data base design across all the Information Repositories
·Resolve subsequent issues and make modifications to ensure ongoing correlation between data models and physical data base structure

 

The dimensional/business data model serves as the blueprint for organizing the structure and content of data across our information repositories.   Specific data warehouse modeling skills and decision support-related experience of the Data Warehouse Data Architect will ensure a greater chance for success of the project, due to the unique data and structural requirements of a data warehouse and the corresponding views needed to support end user access.
Specific skills and attributes for this position include:
·Strong conceptualization skills
·Strong communication skills
·Strong technical skills
·Capacity to develop a clear understanding of the business needs and incorporate these needs into a logical dimensional/business model that will then drive the physical ODS, EDW atomic model and the semantic layer associated views and objects for the subsequent information delivery out of the warehouse
·Skilled in dimensional data modeling theory and application
·Skilled in dimensional modeling design in a very large data base (VLDB) environment
·Proactive and able to assume significant responsibility
