Data Security Consultant 

4 Month Contract

Rate: Open

 

Job Function

· Responsible for managing, maintaining and improving key Information Security tools to help mature and improve the overall effectiveness of solutions across the organization.

· Evaluates emerging and available Information Security Technologies

· Identifies security risks, threats and vulnerabilities of networks, systems, applications and new technology initiatives

· Responsible for monitoring tools, detection, and identification of security anomalies and responding to them as necessary

· Performs complex product evaluations, recommends and implements products/services

· Monitors security audit and intrusion detection system logs for system and network anomalies Investigates and/or escalates security violations, attempts to gain unauthorized access, virus infections that may affect the network or other event affecting security

· Documents and reports event(s)

Technical Skills

· Experience with security or compliance tools (e.g. QRadar, Tripwire, Imperva, Vontu, Varonis, IBM Appscan)

· Experience working with IP networking, networking protocols and understanding of security related technologies including encryption, IPsec, PKI, VPNs, firewalls, proxy services, DNS, electronic mail and access-lists

· Experience working with internet, web, application and network security techniques

· Experience working with relevant operating system security (Windows, Solaris, Linux, etc.)

· Experience working with leading, network scanning and intrusion detection products and authentication technologies

· Working knowledge of Linux bash scripting (perl, php, sed, awk,bash, ruby a plus)

Execution Skills

· Must have strong written and verbal skills

· Must be able to interface and coordinate work efficiently and effectively with business colleagues and vendors in global locations

· Ability to balance and prioritize work

· Strong analytical and problem solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve network/operating system security issues
