Title :SQL DBA
Location: Ewing Township, NJ
Position: Contract (6 + months)
Must Have Experience:
Administer multiple SQL Servers and names instances in an enterprise environment.
Enforce database and server level security.
Routine maintenance; backups, restores, job creation, alerts, re-indexing, integrity checking, database shrinking, log file monitoring, using SQL Server 2000 and 2005/2008.
Performance Tuning; identifying and remediation of performance bottlenecks.
Capacity planning and proactively scan systems for levels using jobs & VBscript.
Knowledgeable regarding support for SSIS and DTS packages, experience in writing, supporting and migration.
Familiar with the use of multiple system environments (Development, Test and Production) and Change Management.
Familiar with the use and implementation of 32 and 64 bit SQL Server 2005/2008.
Migrate legacy databases between systems and versions of SQL Server including 64 bit SQL Server 2005/2008 on 64 bit Windows Server 2003, on both physical and virtual systems.
Develop and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for database maintenance.
Enforce company database Standards and Procedures in daily practices.
Perform database software installations, lock down configuration settings, patching and upgrades.
Upgrade SQL Server versions, promoting from Development to Test and finally to the Production environment.
Provide technical support to the production and development environments by participating in application development and upgrade processes.
Ability to document and implement Server Disaster recovery models.
Ability to document and implement database security and protection measures, such as encryption and replication.
Participate in disaster recovery, policy, procedures, and drills.
Additional Experience:
Roll out, support, optimize high availability solutions using SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 versions.
Install and administer Active/Passive clusters using SAN technology.
Design, install and implement databases in large scale environments.
Automate DBA management reports for large numbers of systems using VBscript, or 3rd party software such as Tableau.
Write jobs to gather information from all of the SQL Servers in the enterprise, catalog results and distribute information to appropriate designates regarding problems requiring DBA attention.
Solid understanding of Windows environment and RAID levels.
Solid understanding of database / SAN interdependencies
Knowledgeable of Microsoft programming and concepts using Visual Basic.NET.
