7 Month Contract

 

Dow Jones, a NewsCorp Company, is seeking to hire an Application Architect who will be responsible for the architecture, development and maintenance of the Identify management system in the CMG e-commerce platform. The architect will work with developers and act as technical lead for the identity management subcomponent of overall consumer commerce, order, and authentication processing for digital and print subscriptions and other product sales. Technical expertise in LDAP open source technologies and strong, service oriented web design is required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

· Defining and implementing application architecture models and programming standards with direction-setting support.

· Defining and building the application development and maintenance environment for scalable identity management, Authentication, SSO, and its interfaces / web service calls with other applications.

· Communicating system enhancement needs, leading the solutions implementation.

· Leading the analysis and evolution of the corporate application portfolio - in this case, the CMG commerce platform and the identity management as it fits with the rest of the applications - to meet business systems processing needs. This includes supporting the goal for replacing the legacy application identity processing in an aggressive manner as it fits with corporate and global initiatives.

Qualifications

· A minimum of 5+ years of experience in architecting solutions using Java platform

· 2+ years in LDAP open source technologies

· 2+ years experience in architecting Identity Management Solutions, SSO, SAML implementation

· 7+ years development software solutions to solve complex, business-critical challenges with demonstrated experience in independent technical leadership or senior architect role

· 5+ years experience in Java/J2EE, MVC, JSP, XML, SQL, HTML, JavaScript, Eclipse

· 5+ years experience in one or more major databases (Oracle, SQL Server)

· Proven ability to work in a Unix or Linux environment including scripting languages, some javascript required.

· Experience building SOA solutions using web services, SOAP, REST services

· A deep understanding of best-practice architecture disciplines, modeling, processes and concepts.

· Strong communication, organizational, and team leadership skills are required.

· Experience in producing business and technical requirements, architecture and design specifications

· Working knowledge of JBOSS Application Server, APACHE Webserver

· Experience using automated build / deployment tools such as Maven 2 and Ant.

· Experience with CVS, SVN, or SourceSafe

· Experience generating automated unit testing using tools like JUnit and/or HttpUnit

· Experience in both traditional software development lifecycle and agile development / iterative programming

· Large distributed enterprise system design knowledge desired

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· A BS or MS degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
