Position - SQL Server Database Specialist
Start – July 1st
Duration – 2 months

Location :Harrisburg, PA



Statement of Work

Customer requests a SQL Server database specialist to migrate data from different environments into an SQL Server environment utilizing DTS package design and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), in the transformation and load process.

 
Tasks

Create, modify and execute transformation and load packages to transport data from SAP in areas such as Finance, Human Resources, etc
Establish SQL Server connectivity with other Non- SQL Server environments
Work with team members to analyze and debug design and programming anomalies as required
Document development processes/procedures
Interact with staff as well as other in-house technical liaisons for data problem resolution.

Requisite Skills

Experience working with database-related technologies, including relational and dimensional database modeling.
Experience in SQL Server Databases required.
Additional experience on Oracle preferred.
Higher Education experience a plus.

Minimum Experience

Experience with Microsoft SQL Server database development.
Experience with Microsoft Data Transformation Services (DTS).
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
3 to 4 years database experience preferred.
Must have at least 3 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server.

General Requirements/Deliverables/Outcomes

Load flat file university data submissions into local database servers.
Populate SQL Servers from Non- SQL Server environments, to be used for design and deliver of reporting and analysis.
Monitor and validate the data submissions to the FTP or SharePoint sites  or other areas of staged data storage from the sites (submission deadlines and content) Process all the incoming files through the edit process in preparation for loading the data into the Data Warehouse
Load all "cleanly scrubbed" files in to the Data Warehouse
Correspond with the data liaisons from the client in an effort to resolve data which did not pass the edit process
Assist in the development of data edits and load programs for decision support
