Software Sourcing Manager
Reason for Need:
Two large IBM Software renewals coming up for our business in Q2 and Q4. The scope of these renewals is ~$15m across our business units. We need someone to engage with business to understand upcoming support needs, work with technical teams, legal, finance and Sourcing to help support the renewal initiative, and develop a process for smooth renewal in the future. Looking for a strong software sourcing resource that has experience in dealing with IBM initiatives. The IBM software experience is very key.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Ÿ Review multiple sites for correct Primary, Renewal and Technical Contacts. Once the correct contacts are determined, work with IBM to fix all contacts
Ÿ Gather all purchases made after the June 11' renewal and log into a central repository
Ÿ Evaluate possible use of Re-Seller, develop a process to manage IBM software (middleware / non-mainframe)
Ÿ Engage the business to review their installed entitlements and separate licenses into logical environments so they are able to de-support the licenses with the ability to run perpetually if needed
Ÿ After the separation of licenses exercise, work with IBM to set up new sites - estimated number of sites after this separation exercise is 100+ sites
Ÿ Once the new sites are set, transfer entitlements from the old site to the new site
Ÿ Coordinate the collection of the renewals, review all quotes for accuracy, obtain financial approval and assist with PO generation
Ÿ Candidate must have IBM Software Sourcing experience. This individual is dedicated to this project, and any other IBM (non-mainframe) software deals. The engagement will last until end of June.
Previous Experience:
Ÿ 5-8 years of sourcing and procurement experience in the technology arena
Ÿ Experience leading major negotiations in various categories
Ÿ Experience leading large scale or enterprise sourcing activities
Ÿ Experience managing addressable spend figures exceeding $200M, and managing a portfolio of cost saving initiatives
Ÿ Experience managing in a global, matrixed environment
Ÿ Experience managing activity with blue chip suppliers such as IBM.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Ÿ Clear understanding of Software, bonus a Data Center environment
Ÿ Strong negotiator with expertise in legal terms and conditions
Ÿ Strong Communication Skills
Ÿ Analytical and strategic thinker
Ÿ A broad understanding of sourcing trends and their commercial application
Ÿ Wide ranging knowledge of technology information systems infrastructure and use, i.e., servers, software, data centers, personal computing and key suppliers in these areas
Education:
Ÿ Bachelors degree; JD preferred
Ÿ Membership with ISM, CIPS or equivalent preferred
Participation on Supply Chain Management board, roundtables, or equivalent preferred
