Job title: Oracle Database Developer

Location: Raleigh, NC

Duration: 6+ Months

 

Expectations and Responsibilities will include the following:

 

• Monitor database system details within the database

• Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues

• Monitor, optimize and allocate physical data storage for database systems

• Perform database transaction and security audits

• Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to databases

• Establish appropriate end-user database access control levels

• Maintain user access privileges and the security set up of all databases

• Develop routines for end-users to facilitate best practices database use

• Respond to end-user requests for ad-hoc reports, updates and data repairs

• Work with agency staff to develop test plans and ensure successful testing and validation of all developed solutions

• Develop technical documentation that will be referenced for support of the delivered solution and subsequent enhancements

 

Required:

 

• Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices

• Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting database servers, including Oracle Database 11g

• Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience

• Strong PL/SQL abilities

• Familiar with RMAN

• Experience writing stored procedures, packages, and triggers

• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

• Ability to conduct research into database issues, standards and products as required

• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

• Minimum of five (5) years' experience working with Oracle server

 

Preferred:

 

• Minimum of two (2) years' experience in application development and design

• Working knowledge of RedHat Enterprise Linux server and Apache Tomcat application server platforms

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (both written and oral)

• Independent; self-starter with proven experience working successfully in a team environment

. Strong technical documentation skills.
