Candidate must have strong understanding of HIPAA X12 837 I, P, D, 835, or 276/277 transactions. Also looking for 1 resource to have a very strong understanding of the NCPDP D.0/1.2 Pharmacy transactions.
We are looking for staff that know MMIS claims processing and are knowledgeable with one or more of the HIPAA 5010 X12 transactions (270/271 Eligibility, 276/277 Claims Status Inquiry, 278 Prior Authorization, 837 Institutional, Professional, and Dental claims, and the 835 Remittance Advice. This system is a legacy MMIS (mainframe). These resources will also need to work from the ACS offices.
We prefer staff who have used DOORS, RQM, ClearCase but is not a requirement.
Position Purpose
The HIPAA 5010 Business Analyst supports planning, design, testing, and implementation activities for the HIPAA 5010 Enhancement. These activities include requirement definition and solution design reviews, and participation in test plan development and execution. The Business Analysts work with DHCS, the Development team, and the testing team as necessary to produce required deliverables that meet contract quality standards.
Tasks and Responsibilities
• Participates in CA-MMIS knowledge transfer in preparation for Implementation and Operation of the enhancement
• Assists in operational readiness testing as required
• Participates in the Business Requirements Document (BRD) creation
• Participates in assigned work group meetings and supports the development and maintenance of required documentation
• Analyzes business processes and perform needs assessments to align CA-MMIS information technology solutions with DHCS business initiatives
• Supports Development team in creation of required design documentation
• Supports Test Team in development of specific testing scenarios and execution to validate that the system is functioning appropriately
• Assigned to a specific electronic transaction and related system areas
