Title: Systems Administrator -  Senior

Length:  6 Months

Location: Jacksonville, FL

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: THE FOLLOWING ARE THE USUAL, BASIC AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION. THESE FUNCTIONS ARE NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS AN EXHAUSTIVE LIST OF ALL RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES, AND SKILLS REQUIRED.

·         Model ethical behavior and execute job responsibilities in accordance with Citizens core values, ethics, and information protection policies.

·         Responsible for the availability, reliability, serviceability of Citizens' systems and applications.

·         Coordinate and perform tasks related to multiple projects.

·         Communicate and implement SLA and OLA standards for production environments.

·         Perform and document administrative tasks on a regular basis.

·         Coordinate system and application configuration & management tasks.

·         Adapt and adjust administrative tasks according to the changing business needs.

·         Communicate with business units and assist in quality control on a variety of projects.

·         Interface with business analysts to understand business processes.

·         Interface with internal customers and departments.

·         Provide hands-on day-to-day support to end-users.

·         Perform software installation and patch upgrades.

·         Coordinate integration services, product updates, change requests and Tier-3 support.

·         Assist in the drafting, evaluation and selection of alternative technical solutions.

·         Serve as a central contact to follow up on technical incidents and report findings to immediate staff and supervisors. This would include maintaining a problem case log and all hardware and software documentation provided during the triage process.

·         Maintain accurate documentation on all systems and application integration points.

·         Gather, interpret and disseminate system performance reports.

·         Maintain a working knowledge of all corporate owned hardware and software.

·         Maintain asset records for server and related equipment.

·         Troubleshoot, analyze and resolve system and application problems.

·         Plan and organize work assignments and prioritize workload.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

·         Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 Server Operating Systems

·         Knowledge of Microsoft systems including, Active Directory and Exchange

·         Knowledge of daily Windows server administration, including system stability, integrity, and troubleshooting

·         Proficiency in upgrading of software and hardware

·         At least 3 years' experience of Systems Administration in environments with at least 50 Windows Servers

·         Knowledge of the relevant computer systems, applications and equipment to provide customer support of technical terminology, concepts and applications.

·         Knowledge of network protocols including DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP.

·         Proficiency in upgrading various software and hardware platforms.

·         Ability to configure, install and support new servers.

·         Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

·         Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

·         Ability to establish goals, objectives, and work plans.

·         Ability to organize material, analyze a wide variety of facts and develop appropriate recommendations.

·         Strong understanding of advanced Microsoft Office suite applications.

·         Ability to manage multiple tasks

·         Ability to work independently or with limited direction.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology or related field OR 4 years of relevant experience OR a combination of college education and relevant work experience equivalent to 4 years.

 

AND

4 or more years of experience administering various systems and applications.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Knowledge or experience in Property & Casualty Insurance industry.

·         Knowledge and understanding of ITIL.

·         Current certification in appropriate vertical.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

·         Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, listen and converse over the telephone and frequently type on a computer (4 or more hours per day).

·         Requires the ability to work shifts outside of normal working hours.

·         Requires the ability for overnight travel, up to 25%.

·         Requires the ability to be on call according to scheduled rotations.

·         Ability to be on call and support a 24 hour/ day and 7 day/ week operations environment as needed.
