Systems Engineer
Location: Knoxville-TN
Duration: 6+Months
Education
Associates degree required, Bachelors degree preferred
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
• Fundamental understanding of data models, relational databases (preferably Oracle), and software lifecycle methodologies
• May lead and direct the work of others
• Ability to multi-task required
• Must possess verbal and written communication skills
Computer/Technical
• Minimum of 7 years Systems Administration experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or Solaris is required
• Minimum 4 years experience in Java, C++, or other object-oriented language
• Minimum of 3 years experience with Apache http servers and Java application servers, preferably Tomcat, JBoss and/or Glassfish, is required
• Minimum of 3 years experience with Perl and/or other scripting languages is required
• Minimum of 2 years experience with system, network, or application monitoring technologies
• Experience with the Vignette product tool suite version 5. 5, 6.0 required
• Understanding of J2EE including EJB's, n-tier architecture , object oriented Analysis and Design
Other
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills
• Strong organizational skills with ability to act independently and responsibly
• Capacity to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to work collaboratively with team members
• Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional groups
• Employees will also perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
