1.Netcool Engineer

Location : Sanjose , CA

The Netcool Engineer works in IT to implement, integrate, and configure IBM Netcool for IT Infrastructure.  Managed systems include:  Network, Storage, Compute, and Voice/Video.

Management capabilities include:  Event correlation and service inventory.  Solutions will integrate with other IT Service Management capabilities:  Incident Management, Problem

Management, Change Management, and Configuration Management.

 

Required

·         Experience with Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus, Tivoli Netcool/Impact

o   Work with probes (mmtrapd, syslog) and probe rules

o   Work with Gateway (Remedy, DB)

o   Work with DSAs

o   Event enrichment policies, correlation rules

o   Triggers and automation for alert notifications

o   Customization of Tivoli Integrated Portal

·         Strong Fault Management, Network Monitoring, Performance Management tool deployment experience

·         Strong Real time Event Management (MoM) tool implementation experience in large enterprise

·         Strong Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS) administration experience

·         Experience with Red Hat Cluster Management and Configuration

·         Programming experience:  Impact Policy Language (IPL), Shell scripting, MTOSI, SQL

·         Experience with UCS, vCenter

·         Good verbal and written communication

·         Strong analytical skills

 

Desired

·         Experience with Webtop, TBSM, ITM, TIP, TCR, Cisco Prime Central (HCS/IP NGN)

·         Programming experience: JavaScript, Perl, Java, PL/SQL, Oracle

·         Experience with Network Management, SNMP, and syslog

·         Experience with Event Management: BMC Event Manager, HP OpenView Operations

·         Familiarity with TCP/IP based network and application protocols (DNS, DHCP, SNMP, LDAP, SMTP, HTTP, FTP)

·         Experience with TCP/IP network configuration and troubleshooting

 

Education and Experience

 

BS in a technical field (CS/EE preferred), and 4-7 years of relevant work experience.
