 Title:  SQL DBA

Nashville, TN

Duration:  1 year

Task Description: Administer SQL Server RDBMS system, utilizing the Windows 2005/2008 Operating Systems, SQL Server 2005, 2008 and 2012 with active/passive cluster (development, test and production).  Extensive experience with SQL Server (backup, recovery and cloning) is required. Disaster recovery experience is desired. Key components include:                 Analyze performance issues in different SQL Server environments, orchestrate tuning efforts with different groups                 Understand Database architecture, data management, partitioning, compression, and devise data archive methodology                 Participate in various initiatives like database builds and migrations.                 Monitor and administer SQL Server, SQL Server Clustering, and other SQL Server components,                 Administer backup, recovery and environment refreshes using SQL Server backup tools and scripts, evaluate alternate or hardware strategies as need arises                 Perform upgrades, patches and installations of SQL Server standalone and clustered environments.

 

Basic Skills Required  Required:  5 yrs with the last 7 yrs                 Thorough understanding and hands on experience managing multiple SQL Server standalone and cluster RDBMS systems.                 Thorough understanding and hands on experience using SQL Server backup/recovery utilities                 Thorough understanding and hands on experience SQL Server Clusterware                 Thorough understanding and hands on experience SAN technology                 Hands on experience tuning SQL, PL/SQL and database objects.                 Excellent written and verbal communication skills.                 Self-Motivator and works with limited supervision                 Must be able to deliver quality and accurate work, provide results, meeting or exceed deadlines, communicate with stakeholders                 Must have worked in a 24x7 distributed environment.                 Minimum of 5 years experience with SQL Server RDBMS   .
