Position Overview:

Great opportunity for an Oracle PL/SQL Developer!  Our Client is seeking an experienced PL/SQL Developer to add to their application development group.  The candidate selected for this position will work closely with existing Technical leads, and  PL/SQL developers on system design, coding, system testing, and transformations based on the data models developed for the new systems.   The preference is for this individual to also have Golden Gate scripting experience.  This position requires experience working in an agile environment, with a passion for continuous improvement, efficiency, and excellence.  Candidates for this position must be very effective working with others—including other technical resources, the business, QA, and management.  Effective leadership and mentoring skills are a must.  All candidates must possess excellent software development skills and experience.

 

 

Requirements:

Ø  Understanding of Data Modeling techniques and best practices

Ø  Must have strong Oracle PL/SQL programming skills

Ø  Data warehousing and Oracle 10g/11g experience is required

Ø  Experience with Oracle Golden Gate scripting and tuning preferred

Ø  Excellent communication skills

Ø  In-depth knowledge of relational database design and database management systems

Ø  Experience with Hyperion 8/9 preferred

Ø  Experience with projects involving conversion of large batch processes to PL-SQL is preferred

Ø  Experience handling and managing large volumes of data (5000+ transactions / second).  Should have experience with tuning high-volume applications for performance and instrumentation of code for tuning and monitoring

Ø  Periodically be on-call to support Production application

 

Essential Functions:

Ø  Serving as a lead PL/SQL developer, this person will work closely with existing Technical leads, ETL developers, and BI developers on tasks involving system design, data cleansing, transformation and aggregation based on the data models developed for the new systems

Ø  Support architecture efforts by following and adhering to the standards set forth by the Information Architecture group and maintain the integrity of application architecture

Ø  Support of applications data replication via the use of Golden Gate scripting and tuning for high volume

Ø  Maintain data integration, data distribution and correct issues as they arise

Ø  Provide mentoring and knowledge transfer of PL/SQL skills to existing staff

Ø  Work with Business Analysts to understand the business requirements

Ø  Provide technical work estimates and task breakdown

Ø  Participate in peer code reviews and provide support to QA/Prod during the test/migration process

 

Education:

Ø  BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

 

Experience:

Ø  Experience with relational database design and database management systems (Oracle, MS SQL Server, DB2 UDB etc.);

Ø  Knowledge and experience with TOAD and PL/SQL programming.

Ø  Understanding of Data Modeling techniques and best practices

Ø  Oracle 10g/11g experience is required

Ø  Must have strong Oracle PL/SQL programming skills

Ø  In-depth knowledge of relational database design and database management systems

Ø  Experience with UNIX Operating System

Ø  Experience with projects involving conversion of large batch processes to PL/SQL

Ø  Experience handling and managing large volumes of data (5000+ transaction / second).  Should have experience with tuning high-volume near real-time applications for performance and instrumentation of code for tuning and monitoring.

Ø  Experience with data replication via the use of Golden Gate scripting and tuning for high volume

Ø  Experience working with OBIEE a plus

Ø  Data warehousing experience a plus
