Description/Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include providing architectural direction and hands-on implementation of Business Objects infrastructure and solutions for enterprise business reporting. The candidate will be responsible for researching various data warehouse solutions that can be utilized with Business Objects and possibly other 3rd party reporting tools.
Responsibilities also include definition of logical models and data warehouse best practices and standards. Need the ability to analyze technologies, define technical processes and/or functions, document findings, identify areas for improvement, create specifications for implementation, and hands-on implementation of the agreed upon solution.
Also, facilitate the discovery of entities, attributes, relationships, and business rules from the functional experts and the user community.
Required Skills:
· 10+ years of overall database and data warehouse experience
· 8+ years of experience in developing universes in Business Objects XI R2
· 8+ years of experience developing universe and stored procedure based reports in Business Objects Enterprise 3.1 using Crystal Reports and Web Intelligence. Xcelsius and Voyager experience a plus
· 5+ years data warehousing solution architecture and implementation
· 5+ years BOE administrator experience with planning, sizing, installation, configuration, monitoring and support of a BO environment
· 5+ years installation and configuration experience in large scale implementations on a Windows platform working with BO servers
· Strong SQL skills
· Ability to architect, design and develop Data Marts, Data Warehousing and OLTP solution
· Ability to design and normalize the logical data model to third normal form
· Solid understanding of Business Objects Enterprise servers, CMC and implementing stand alone or clustered configurations for load balancing and fault tolerant environments
· Hands on experience in administering, monitoring and troubleshooting BO servers
· Excellent understanding of Business Objects 3.1 Applications (Crystal, Webi, Infoview, universe designer, Dashboard, etc.)
· Excellent knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling
· Experience with Oracle 9i,10g and 11g
· Excellent communication and strong team player
· Excellent analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
· Self-motivated and experience in a consulting role
· This position requires solid working knowledge of data modeling, data architecture, data marts, as well as ETL and PL/SQL experience.
Desired Skills:
· Experience with Vertica
· Experience with Business Objects XI 3.1 / BI 4.0 (Designer, Webi, Xcelsius, Live Office, Crystal and other BO tools)
· Experience with ETL tools like BusinessObjects Data Integrator (as developer / designer)
· Experience with MDM tools like power designer, Erwin
· PL/SQL and Transact-SQL, SP, Views and Materialized Views experienced
