The Systems Analyst possesses a thorough understanding of the technologies and applications supporting the business. They research complex data, process and integration issues, document support processes and break-fix specifications and participate in delivery of comprehensive solutions. The Systems Analyst is also responsible for level 2 support of internal and customer-facing enterprise applications including administration, maintenance and software configuration management for production systems. The Systems Analyst provides technical leadership.
Candidates must have the ability to communicate clearly and at all times be able to interact with others professionally in a variety of situations. The Systems Analyst creates documentation to describe application design, logic, coding, support processes and break fixes. Documentation must be understandable to both the business user and the technical implementer. The role includes internal consulting to clarify business objectives and identify opportunities for improvement.
The Systems Analyst works independently and with teams to plan and accomplish goals. They must be self directed in using their experience, creativity and analytical skills to resolve technology problems.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline and 5+ years related experience required.
Specific technology experience required:
• Strong SQL skills
• Relational databases and data analysis – Oracle & MS SQL Server
• Application and ETL troubleshooting
• Enterprise application installation, configuration and administration
• Software Configuration Management
Technology experience desired:
• ETL development – Informatica
• EAI administration – Tibco
• Scripting – Unix & Windows
• Stored procedure development – Oracle
• Web-application development – .NET & Java
General technology experience required:
• Excellent customer service skills and soft skills (i.e., Collaboration, influence, communication, etc)
• Performing support for production application systems including testing, administration and installation to maintain enterprise technology operations
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve, or identify for escalation, complex support issues, determine root cause and implement or facilitate a solution
• Documenting technical requirements for application break-fix and new-feature development
• Documenting technical issues and troubleshooting steps, results and problem resolution
• Ability to perform application installation, configuration and administration in a Windows environment
• Experience with information technology operational support methodologies and best practices
• Familiarity with Service Desk management tools
• Experience with release and change management best practices
• Achieve full compliance with business policies
