Here are the requirement details

-- Location: MN

The Data Modeler/Architect works with a Lead Data Architect to understand, modify or create data warehouse data structures to source claims and membership data from external systems.  This includes database design, data profiling and data mapping and transformation rule documentation.  The Data Modeler may also participate in data extract projects to review or complete data mappings and modify or create supporting data mart or work flow structures.

The Data Modeler/Architect may support 3-4 deliverable assets and participate in multiple units depending upon size and complexity of the deliverable.  A unit in this context is defined as a team that is responsible for an EDIM asset: (1) an outbound data extract, e.g., a monthly data extract created and transmitted to a third party vendor including supporting marts or views, or (2) an inbound data load process to existing or new data warehouse data structures.

Inbound warehouse load tasks:

§  data profiling

§  modify or create new IDW claims tables ( including new SDS tables)

§  modify or create IDW views

§  review data mappings

§  support the DI and Testing teams 

Outbound extract tasks:

§  review and augment data mappings (especially in regards to data integration, joins, etc)

§  data profiling

§  create/modify views

§  create/modify data marts

§  create/modify ETL work tables

§  manage environments - sequencing work and project interdependencies (especially BHI)

§  support the DI and Testing teams 

 

Skills and Experience

§  Minimum of 10 years of IT professional experience

§  An individual with 5 years of recent data modeling experience, preferable in data warehousing and 3NF modeling practices.

§  Knowledgeable in Erwin

§  Strong SQL experience (for data profiling)

§  Strong communication skills

§  Team player

§  Motivated person able to work independently
