 Job Title: VMware consultant with vCOPs

Location: Irving, TX

Duration: 1+ months

Rate: $57/hr { Max}

 

PROJECT BACKGROUND:

 

The goal of the service is to offer vCOps in a production VMware vCenter Operations Management environment for performance management and capacity planning, and to jointly define operations process improvements with Customer for agencies and infrastructure services.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

- Gather requirements and insight from Customer on performance and capacity management. Up to three (3) application or infrastructure use cases selected by Customer will be reviewed to leverage a VMware vCenter Operations Management  solution that is composed of vCenter Operations Manager and vCenter Infrastructure Navigator.

- Review existing vCOps environment and provide optimization recommendations where appropriate. Maximum environment size is limited to 6,000 virtual machines

- Conduct a Design Workshop and a Validation Workshop to design, implement, and visualize metrics, key performance indicators, tagging, super metrics and dashboards (Use Case Objects) for the selected use cases. - Configure vCenter Operations Manager and vCenter Infrastructure Navigator to implement the Use Case Objects. Provide knowledge transfer on the configured environment.

- Present recommendations and enhanced operational workflows based on use cases to IT management jointly with Customer's IT managers.

- Upon conclusion of the engagement, VMware consultants will make available a project documentation pack that includes a Prerequisites Checklist, Design Requirements  Document, Use Case Definition Workshop Presentation, Configuration Workbook, Validation Workbook, Process and Workflow Document, and a Recommendations  Presentation
