Location: Durham, NC

PURPOSE AND SCOPE: Provide leadership for more junior level mobile developers. Responsible for programming design, coding, unit testing, debugging, technical documentation, software implementation and on-going support of mobile device application software. Acts as the subject matter expert providing recommendations and analyses regarding mobile technology solutions (Java, Blackberry, Androis, iPhone, Objective C, etc.) for clinical systems.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Support and confer with business community to determine business and technical requirements.
Work with customers and peers for requirements gathering and definition.
Analyze business application requirements of various scope and complexities in order to support business management objectives.
Design and write software technical specifications, write software code, and perform unit tests on clinical and other systems using mobile technologies.
Design, write specifications, develop programs, test, document, implement and support business solutions of varying degrees while maintaining the highest quality possible.
Develop software applications and functionality in accordance with systems analysis definitions and requirements.
Write Java, Objective C, ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript, Visual Basic and SQL code for mobile applications.
Applies current technology to solve technical problems and ensure system and application performance is optimized. Stay abreast of evolving mobile software development technologies ranging from development languages and cross-platform development to mobile operating systems, to SQL Server database, and other supporting technologies.
Document operational, system and support requirements ensuring adherence to Corporate IT Standards.
Maintain coding standards to facilitate code maintenance and enhancement.
Prepare developer and end user documentation in support of projects.
Create and document 2ndand 3rdtier application support processes and routines to create an efficient application production support environment.
Provide application technical support.
Provide formal training for other developers.
Serve as a technical resource for other development staff and business community members.
Perform code and technical architecture reviews. This ranges from review of single routines of software code through review of complex technical architecture. Complex solutions may require partnership with other software development groups, Desktop Support, Enterprise Hosting, and Networking.
Assist in development of scalable deployment architecture.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
Minimum of 5 years experience in the design and development of software applications.
Minimum of 2 years experience in the design and development of mobile software applications.
Technical expert highly specialized in mobile technologies, specifically :
Xcode, Android SDK and Eclipse development environment experience
Programming for iOS4 (iPod Touch, iPad, iPhone)
Objective-C, Cocoa Touch and Java experience
Strong object-oriented design and analysis skills experience with a mobile device focus
SQLite Core Data DB experience
Experience with web technologies preferred REST/XML/SOAP Web Services, JSON, HTML 5, and WPF
.NET technologies (VB, C#, ASP, Visual Studio, C++) a plus
