 Python Developer (Full Stack Python Developer)

Bloomington, MN

 

The focus of this role is to develop applications for consumer facing vehicle telematics and associated offerings.  This will involve a wide range of responsibilities including leading a small development team overseeing the entire software SDLC, designing, developing, integrating, testing, deploying, and supporting market leading products and services. This position offers an opportunity to work in a very dynamic environment and great growth potentials.

 

A successful candidate needs to be self-motivated and has passion for technologies.  This role requires,

-        Proven ability to build reliable and scalable applications on cloud platforms, primary on Google App Engine.

-        Profound knowledge of Python, Java, HTML, and JavaScript.

-        Extensive experience with web services and RESTful APIs.

-        Strong analytical background, good communication skills, and collaborative nature

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

 

1.     Key contributor to our SaaS, cloud based on-demand Telematics solutions. Lead the development of our innovative consumer facing applications with enterprise level quality and infinitely scalability.

2.     Research, design and develop prototypes using new technologies.

3.     Triage and troubleshoot production issues.

4.     Coach junior developers and offshore developers.

 

EXPERIENCE:

   Mo/Yrs        Describe

10+ years	Industry experience in software development. Clear understanding of software SDLC in an Agile development environment.
5+ years	Python web application development experience.
2+ years	Application development experience on Google App Engine.
5+ years	Solid relational database experience with good knowledge of reporting and data analytics. Knowledge on NOSQL frameworks.
5+ years	Web service and RESTful API development experience.
3+ years	Linux/Unix experience
2+ years	Nice to have skills: GIS applications, mobile applications.
