 Title:      Alfresco Software Developer

Duration:       6 months

Location:       NY                 (possibly remote)

Job Responsibilities: 

           

 
This developer will work on a new implementation using the Alfresco 4 platform. It is a project heavily leveraging Alfresco's content type architecture, so requires thorough understanding of the platform's customization facilities.

The developer will work with in-house staff to:
- Install, configure and optimize Alfresco 4.1 platform on Oracle linux with Oracle database, working with in-house systems team
- Provide basic training to systems team on Alfresco administration
- Create custom content models, with custom types and aspects
- Add custom types and aspects to various drop-down and other lists to allow for rule and type configuration
- Configure forms for custom properties
- Configure form service for custom types
- Configure form service for custom properties
- Configure advanced search in Share
- Localize strings for custom content models
- Basic create, read, update, delete functionality using OpenCMIS
- Create associations with OpenCMIS
- Search for custom content with CMIS Query Language:
- Query on custom properties and aspects
- Query across multiple aspects
- Optimize for performance and scalability:
- Load and performance testing for large content sets (500,000+ documents)
- Folder hierarchy and content storage optimization for query and UI performance

Generic skills/project for this individual:

- At least 5 years Java experience (both Java the language and Java the platform)
- Expert knowledge of Alfresco 4 platform
- Experience with Freemarker templating language
- Understanding of enterprise architecture, preferably in the context of high scale, clustered Java web applications
- Understanding of JEE architecture and the components on which it is based (RDBMS, servlets, REST, etc.)
- Work with in-house architects and business analysts to define and document requirements
- Document solution clearly in English
- Plan and deliver work under Agile process

Education:
Bachelors degree is preferred but not required
