GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
JBoss Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, performance tuning and maintenance of JBoss application servers and other J2EE software products, in a high traffic volume, consumer-oriented web sites. Furthermore, the Administrator will troubleshoot application issues and support the application development cycle involved with application design, deploying code, and resolving any Middleware problems. Other duties include monitoring production environment, tuning J2EE application servers to optimize performance, participating in production outage calls, stabilizing and improving JVM performance by tuning the Heap Size, GC policy, and connection pools. A major focus of this position is performing server administration tasks to ensure optimal up-time as well as working with our development teams to ensure the proper configuration of our enterprise wide application environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the installation, configuration, administration and daily maintenance of enterprise-wide systems
- Must have experience or in-depth knowledge of J2EE framework and applications with at least 5 years of experience in Middleware products such as JBOSS, Tomcat or Websphere Application Server and JRun;
- Responsible for the management of all systems and services including installation, configuration, support and benchmarking, statistical information and metrics needed to proactively manage and plan growth to the server environment.
- Advise on architecture, capacity planning, utilization, and limitations of middle tier web and application solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
BS or equivalent experience in Computer Science
