Infrastructure Project Manager

Position is an infrastructure project manager to help execute a data center migration. Candidate should have extensive background in the infrastructure space (server, network, etc..) and previous data center migration experience is a big plus
Server Migration PM
Duration: 7 months
Plymouth, MN
| Description |
| Distributed Platform services Project Management team is looking for PM candidates to manage execution phase of Server Migrations.
Prior to server migration events, will be responsible for:
- Researching server information to complete server profiles in preparation for migration
- Working with UNIX and Windows platform teams to validate server configurations
- Organizing work efforts between platform teams and storage teams to remediate server storage in preparation for migration, including: Migration to new SAN arrays, Removal of unneeded SAN devices and Migration to new NAS devices
- Possibly organizing work efforts to remediate server software in preparation for migration, including: OS patches, Driver updates, Updates of 3rd party system software packages
During server migration events, will be responsible for:
- Providing primary communication link between platform teams and Program Team
- Tracking and recording status of all servers as shutdown occurs
- Tracking and recording status of all servers readied for transport
- Tracking and recording status of all servers readied at new site
- Tracking and recording status of all servers as startups are done
- Tracking and recording status of servers throughout application validation process
Following server migration events, will be responsible for:
- Follow up on any open application validation issues from move
- Helping ensure that server information database entries are properly updated
- Documenting and communicating "learnings" from event to communicate to Program Team
- Work with Program Team to adjust processes as needed for improved workflow |
