Job Title     : Systems Engineer / F5 Load Balancer

Location    : San Francisco, CA

Duration    : 12+ months

 

Basic Qualifications

10+ years experience in web systems environments which includes web application installations, upgrades, and deployment as well as any servers/ systems that support/ host web applications.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

·         F5 - Load Balancers / Application Delivery Controllers

·         In depth engineering experience on load balancers, including a general understanding of routing protocols BGP, OSPF, TCP, SSL, TLS, and in-depth working knowledge of application layer protocols including HTTP, SSH, SSL, and DNS.

·         Applicant must have an understanding of load balancing strategies/ techniques, expertise in application switching / traffic management, knowledge of persistence and SSL certificates.

·         Application must have experience on F5 versions 9.4 and 10.2.

·         Applicant needs to be able to complete basic configurations on the F5 (creating VIP, pools, profiles, monitors, etc), including OS upgrades, trunking, and general troubleshooting of the devices.

·         Advanced skills of designing, coding, and troubleshooting iRules and iControls are required.

·         A high degree of F5 experience is required for this position.

 

Additional desired knowledge in IBM Rational Clear Case, Solaris, Linux Red Hat 4.X, scripting ability in Perl and/or shell, XML, and IBM Rational Clear Quest.

Needs proven verbal and written communication skills, facilitation and presentation skills.

Creates detailed and well written install guides, install guide templates, and/or standards documents
