Thought Apps is looking for a DevOps Engineer with experience in Amazon Web Sericies (AWS) and a solid understanding of Cloud Infrastructure and Services. This person will be responsible for supporting engineering teams and leverage our infrastructure in the Amazon Cloud to develop and operate NodeJS and mobile software products & solutions.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop tools and solutions to automate our infrastructure provisioning and maintenance work flows, as well as our daily production data delivery work flows.
Design and develop tools and solutions to deliver our infrastructure features and capabilities as PaaS.
Participate in the development of a framework for our infrastructure platform.
Advocate for the adoption of DevOps.
Required Qualifications:
Solid distributed computing design skills
Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration
Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef or an equivalent
Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (AWS is a must have)
Strong experience with SQL and MySQL (NoSQL experience is a plus)
A working understanding of code and script (NodeJS, Python, Perl and/or Ruby)
Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
Comfortable with SCRUM development methodology
College degree in Computer Science or related field
Secondary Qualifications (Nice to Have):
Familiarity with Network Administration
Experience with Information Security
