Project Description:

We are looking for a technical, highly-motivated, extremely organized hands-on Quality Assurance. This is a key team player in the successful development and integration of a multi-channel application for a top national retailer. This resource should be creative, resourceful, experienced in the Agile SDLC, and have been part of programs/projects with multiple system integrations both internally in the company, as well as externally with multiple vendors.      

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Position Overview:

 

Responsibilities/Deliverables that the resource will be responsible for:

·         Reports to Platform Program Manager

·         Collaboratively coordinates testing of program solution with business requirements & designs.

·         Responsible for delivering iterative test results/progress

·         Works collaboratively with integrated enterprise systems to complete end-to-end testing

·         Develop and maintains test scenarios, manual only

·         Creates and maintains test plans, cases/scripts,  traceability matrix and various testing checklists

·         Manage test data requests for platform teams to support development and QA testing

·         Responsible for platform environment validation throughout the deployment process

·         Produces statistics and track metrics on QA testing against the plan and drive improvement ideas based on those metrics

·         Proactively identify ways to improve quality of the platform and mentor Quality team members

·         Support UAT activities with platform Business Analysts and Business Owners

·         Supports enterprise teams for security and performance testing

·         Work closely with Business Analysts, Architects, Project Managers,  and Developers

·         Collaborate with other Mobile platform QA leads and develop testing  strategies to create consistent, repeatable thorough testing processes through Mobile.

·         Continuously improve QA practices to improve team's productivity and product quality, including Agile practices

 

 

 

Skills Overview:

What are the MUST have skills that you are looking for in a candidate?

1.      Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

2.       5 -6 years experience of Manual testing

3.       Testing of webservices – MUST HAVE

4.       XML experience – MUST HAVE

5.       2+ years experience in working on Mobile platform projects (Android, Tablet)

6.       5+ years in Quality Assurance and working within software industry in an Agile development environment, building web based systems.

7.       Experience with cross-functional and remote teams for delivering quality products on a tight schedule.

8.       Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical co-workers and customers

9.       Knowledge of testing with web services and troubleshooting issues

10.   The ideal candidate will have experience in the Retail market sector

11.   The ideal candidate will have experience managing 5-8 concurrent projects

12.   The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, capable of managing their own workload as well as the workload of others on the team.

  1. Must be comfortable in an agile, fast-paced, evolving environment

 

What are the technologies and the depth of the technologies that a candidate must have in order to be successful in this role?

  1. Responsive Design Testing
  2. Testing in SOA (Rest/Soap)
  3. Webservices Testing
  4. Driving implementation of manual testing– 3 years

5.       Agile methodology background – 3 years

6.       Backend/ db testing – 3 years

7.       Middleware experience – 3  years

8.       Good understanding of reading and modifying XMLs.

9.       Knowledge of testing with web services and troubleshooting issues

  1. LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP)

 

 

What are the soft skills that you feel candidates must-have in order to be successful in this role?

1.      Candidate must have a strong personality, be able to take initiative, ask questions and make constant improvements and suggestions
