The Application Developer, E-Commerce will work closely with the Client, Marketing, and Rx
Operations business and technical teams to deliver functionality for the Client site. The successful
candidate will bring strong development experience to the technical teams and will demonstrate a
strong capability to work across multiple teams to deliver value to our business partners.
The Java Application Developer, E-Commerce is responsible for but not limited to:
• Design and develop high-volume, low-latency J2EE based e-commerce applications for mission-
critical systems, delivering high-availability and performance
• Write well designed, testable, efficient code
• Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting
these for architectural review
• Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications
• Work closely with QA and Operations to ensure smooth QA and deployment of applications
Required Qualifications
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience
• 3+ years of experience designing and developing applications on the Java/J2EE platforms
• Experience with development of e-commerce applications, particularly with Oracle ATG
platform products (commerce, CSC, BCC)
• Applied knowledge of Design Patterns
• Strong applied knowledge of object oriented concepts and software design patterns
• Profound insight of Java and JEE internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction
management etc)
• Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies
• Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (Struts,
JSF, Spring MVC, etc.)
• Experience with test-driven development
• Applied knowledge of user interface (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc) design & development
• Must be highly organized and detail-orientated
• Must have the ability to work closely with team members
• Good verbal and communication skills
• Flexible, motivated self-starter
