VMware View Lead/Administrator

Summary: Senior Technical resource needed to implement and transition support of VMware View product.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Provide technical leadership and guidance in the installation, configuration and implementation of VMware View and supporting technologies (Vsphere, VCOPS, etc)
- Architecting and design enterprise level IT architectural solutions utilizing VMware's core virtualization and View Desktop Offerings
- Plan, Design, Build & Deliver core Virtual Desktop infrastructure solutions
- Provide Tier 3 escalation support of virtual desktop infrastructure and virtual desktop pools
- A sound, constructive and understanding approach to client problems, aiming to be seen as a trusted advisor
- An innovative approach to solving client problems for the betterment of the client and the advancements of VMware
- Adhering to time, cost and quality constraints of each project
- Build and maintain the confidence of colleagues and customers
- Achieving productive and billable utilization targets
- On-call availability might occasionally be required to resolve production issues
- Coordinate troubleshooting View environment with support teams. This would potentially include Users, Operations Center, Desktop, Server, VMware and Storage teams.

Role Specific Technical Skills:
- Sound understanding of solution generation and implementation within the IT architecture space
- Experience in Plan, Design, and Build & Deliver of core View virtual desktop infrastructure solutions
- Excellent technical documentation skills
- Demonstrable experience with VMware's products (VMware ESX, vCenter, View, vCenter Operations) within modern IT production data centers and infrastructure environments
- Moderate UNIX or Linux systems skills
- Windows Server Operating system knowledge
- Network and Storage design and implementation
- Familiar with systems management concepts, processes & standards, capacity/performance management & tuning, and storage & network management.
- Familiarity with IBM server and storage products

Previous Experience:
- Strong experience in a client facing, technical or application consulting role

Education:
- BS or equivalent
- ITIL
- VCP

Personal Attributes and Competencies:
- Is personable and well presented
- Is political/social astuteness aware (read the non-verbal's)
- Ability to speak and present to both business and technical audiences
- Motivated, driven individual
