Job Title: Application - Senior User Interface Designer

Duration: 2 Years

Job Description: Under limited supervision, collaborates with business and technical teams to lead, advocate for and develop user- centered design and interaction concepts.

 

Responsibilities:

- Leads efforts to gather and develop business requirements and user needs specific to complex features, functionality, content and organizational structure.

- Develops and presents user experience recommendations to key stakeholders for large-scale complex initiatives.

- Leads research efforts to understand user needs such as heuristics, usability testing, focus groups, web analytics and competitor evaluations.

- Designs, develops and conducts usability testing scenarios to understand and validate user needs throughout the lifecycle of projects.

- Partners with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand and communicate technical capabilities of business requirements.

- Identifies and recommends features, functionality and specific interactions for complex projects based on analysis of business goals and user needs.

- Creates user requirement specifications, such as personas, scenarios, task analysis, flowcharts and organization and navigation models. May include creating prototypes.

- Gathers and incorporates feedback from stakeholders, end users, technical and design teams to validate user experience proposals.

- Creates alternatives and makes recommendations for final design. Works with designers and writers to create final user experience artifacts for development.

- Provides input to technical teams during development phase. Conducts user testing during construction to validate design and make adjustments as necessary.

- Monitors internal data and feedback after launch to recommend and prioritize improvements for future phases.

- Leads the development of a variety of user experience design principles, best practices and processes.

- Continuously develops and evolves the user experience style guide.

- Actively engages in user experience community (experts) and attends conferences to evaluate and apply industry best practices.

- Researches new user interface ideas, emerging technologies and applications.

- Responsible for bringing recommendations to incorporate into user experience practice and site design.

- Partners with vendors to advocate for consistency and usability standards.

- Recommends and ensures consistent use of design concepts across applications.

- Provides leadership to creative team on user experience design concepts and processes.

- Provides expertise and mentors others as needed.

- Initiates and leads projects to improve overall site usability by continuously evaluating current user behavior and site design and structure.

- Provides oversight on work product produced by external business partners.

- Collaborates within team and other departments to leverage and share ideas and recommendations to apply broadly across multiple channels.
