Java with GIS Developer

Location: Vienna, VA and Beltsville MD(Locals/Nearby)
Duration : 12 Months
Start Date: ASAP

Note: Interviews are on-going, candidate will be required to undergo through background check.

Required Key Skills:

XML, Angular, Javascript, HTML5, Open Layers 3, Groovy and GIT. 
Also required PostgreSQL, PostGIS, Esri desktop products, Linux, Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) web services, and python or other scripting language.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for creating GIS web pages
• Will develop reactive, resizable main map interface with additional UI functionality as determined by stakeholders and usability testing.
• Redesign map selected data display.
• Enhance 508 compliance with new text-based data discovery and exploration interface that provides same links and data as the GIS-based page.
• Collaborate with customer metadata experts to write ISO 19115 metadata for layers as they are created.
• Customize GeoNetwork suitable for release
• Support for creating and editing additional metadata standards e.g., SensorML, EML, FGDC, and potentially observation station metadata.
• Configure metadata harvesting features of GeoNetwork to enable automated catalog-to-catalog exchange.
• Revisions to existing GIS applications and customizations along with SOW deliverables to accommodate version updates to GeoServer, GeoNetwork, and other components.
• Document procedures to integrate deliverables into the Govt. development environment and to migrate towards production environments
