MUST HAVE FACILITIES MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE (IBM TRIRIGA PREFERRED)

Position Summary: 

The Sr. Business Analyst (SBA) will play a lead role in the documentation of requirements and business process flows as part of our client's IT software implementation. Working under the IT Operations Manager, they will initially help develop the approach and documentation standards to be utilized for the project. The SBA is responsible for managing the solution requirements.  This includes working with the business experts to facilitate, gather, document and track project requirements and scope.  The SBA works at the highest level of most phases of information systems analysis while considering the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future environment. Duties include:  develop technical standards and policies to meet the needs of the customers; ensure systems analysis procedures and practices are identified and implemented; provide leadership in the development of business requirements in support of the strategic plan; promote the utilization of technical services to resolve business problems; help manage customer expectations; and will provide oversight for several junior business analysts.

This position requires someone who can understand both the big picture and detailed requirements and act as the go to person for requirement explanation, questions and issue resolution.  The Business Analyst should be able to understand how the requirements map to the technical solution and ensure scope and requirements of projects are met through the implementation.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with business owners, end users, and Subject Matter Experts across the client to gather and document business requirements
Gathers business requirements through a variety of techniques (e.g. work sessions and interviews) and facilitates design workshops (Business).
Clarify and elaborate requirements when they are ambiguous, change, or conflict with other business requirements
Review system design approaches to ensure they fully meet the business requirements
Write use cases, business rules, and other artifacts such as swim lane diagrams and activity flow diagrams to effectively articulate and represent business processes, desired outcomes, and requirements
Set up, or manage the setting up of, the application to support the defined business process within established base functionality
Produce key documents, both in written and presentation format.
Excellent problem solver with the ability to keep many driving factors and requirements in focus
Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
Ability to independently schedule, travel to and conduct meeting with customers at various locations throughout the Commonwealth
Strong communication and documentation skills, ability to communicate and interact at executive and junior levels
Consistent attention to detail
Overall high degree of professionalism

Qualifications:

At least 5+ years of IT experience
At least 3 years of experience as a senior business analyst responsible for managing requirements of large complex projects
At least 3 years of experience with a Facility and Asset management applications such as IBM Tririga or MAXIMO
Experience with COTS software implementation
Knowledge of business process analysis and/or re-engineering
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to translate complex business needs into use case models
Familiarity with BIRT a plus
Excellent interpersonal, communications and analysis skills, planning and organizational proficiency and good business judgment
Familiarity with IT business practices and be able to interface and integrate with IT and Agency functional areas
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Ability to perform related duties, as required
Bachelor's degree with a major in the field of computer science, information systems or related field
