Configuration Management Engineer
Location: Knoxville, TN, Chevy Chase MD, Chelsea NY
Duration :6+Months+

Complete Description:
Client is seeking a Configuration Management Engineer to join the Web Applications Development group in Knoxville or Washington DC. This individual will work closely with a small configuration management team assisting multiple development teams that support the Client's websites. Must have experience with Java and Unix development and environments. This role will be hands on developing, customizing, and operating build, release, and deployment systems for complex web applications involving many internal and external dependencies.

Responsibilities
* Development of configuration management tools.
* Management, development, and execution of build, release, and deploy procedures and scripts.
* Assist in trial, selection, and deployment of configuration management tools.
* System dependency management.
* Automation of configuration management procedures.
* Conduct training of configuration management tools and procedures.
* Assist with audit of existing configuration management practices.

Qualifications
* BA/BS from accredited college/university or equivalent experience
* 5+ years of development or Unix systems engineering experience.
* Experience with Java software development.
* Experience with Unix environments, systems, and Shell Scripting.
* Experience with PHP or similar web development systems.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to work under time constraints or to a deadline.
* Hands on experience with Subversion and JIRA.
* Familiarity with Configuration Management principles.
* Familiarity with Agile software development practices.
* Hand on experience with the following technologies is desirable
-- Source Code Control Systems (Subversion, CVS, Git, Mercurial)
-- Issue/Bug tracking systems (JIRA, Bugzilla)
-- Build and dependency management tools (Ant, Gradle, TeamCity, Hudson, CruiseControl, Maven)
