Position Description: This posting is for 2 (two) BSA positions in the Commercial Operations area:
Position 1: SPP Integrated Market Place Program. Project Description: SPP is making major design changes to the market. This initiative is to understand the impacts of these design changes from business/system perspective, implement the changes for market trials in Q1, 2013 and go-live in Q1 of 2014.This project will be 18 to 24 months.
Position 2: Corporate Separation Project(s): Understand the implications of East Pool modification and implement necessary changes to effectuate the pool changes. Candidate should exhibit the skill sets to understand complex accounting system models in a relatively short time frame, work with business and IT to come up with business case,project proposal and then follow with project execution. Candidate should have good leadership skills to make quick progress and work collaboratively with the involved teams
across organizations. This project will be 12 to 18 months.
Business Systems Analyst in Commercial Operations business area is responsible for working with the end users to solicit information aboutproblem/opportunity statement, build business case, work with relevant IT personnel to develop budget estimate and create proposal to provide practical solutions to fit the need. Commercial Operations is a fast paced environment with changing business needs due to interactions with external markets, customers and regulatory compliance requirements. Individual in this position will need to be flexible and adaptable to these changing needs and be resourceful to find alternate solutions in timely fashion.
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include development of business case documentation, benefit realization, project scope, gather requirements/process, flow definition documentation, test and deployment strategies, and management of scope change issues. Responsibilities also include decision-making, risk assessment, excellent communication, long term planning, problem/issue/conflict resolution, customer service, and client relations. Acts as a role model for self-development by visibly seeking feedback on own effectiveness and by learning new competencies. Advocates personnel development and cross training ; understands the importance of including these programs in the planning of assigned processes. Communicates effectively with all levels of departmental and customer management. Communicates recommendations, requirements, and options to internal and external clients/vendors. Expresses viewpoints in a direct and straightforward manner. Conveys complex information in simple terms, utilizing relevant and meaningful language. Able to adjust to multiple demands, conflicting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change; shows resilience in the face of constraints, frustrations or adversity. Shifts roles and priorities responsively to meet business needs and to increase competitiveness.
Demonstrates awareness and understanding of future trends, relevant to job or team.
Identifies, clarifies, resolves and initiates solutions to complex problems
that require extensive specialized knowledge.
Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions.
Familiarity with the electricity industry and the operations of Regional
Transmission Organizations is beneficial.
Technical skills
Quality Center or any relevant testing tools, along with great proficiency
in end to end testing, use case/scenario based testing.
Use of Visio/PowerPoint for business process documentation.
Any relevant tools for Requirements Elicitation and capture of information.
Microsoft project is a plus and not a must.
