JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Senior Software Developer

JOB SUMMARY (Describe in 2-3 sentences the purpose of this position):
Responsible for setting the strategic direction for the next phase of HWI's product development to ensure rapid time-to-market, security and quality of products and services to a growing national wellness market. Acts as high level technical expert in design, development, coding, testing, and debugging new software or enhancements to existing software. Ensures delivery of applications on-time and within budget. Develops and enhances .NET applications, primarily on the Web, to improve the health of users.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (nature and scope of position, maximum of 10):
Participate in product planning to ensure best-in-class applications that meet HWI's quality and security objectives and comply with a strict regulatory environment.
Write .NET code for new and existing web applications.
Code, test, and debug new software or enhancements to existing software.
Improve policies and procedures for developing, testing and deploying application code.
Work with the broader Product, Systems and Development teams to develop and enhance software development methodologies at HWI.
Provide technology thought-leadership and help drive product innovation.
Meet deadlines and make the best use of time and resources, and to properly plan/prioritize the steps necessary to complete their work.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor Degree in, Computer Programming or Science, Information Systems, or related field.
5-7 years application development with some team leads or architect responsibilities.
Preferred Education, Additional Qualifications and Experience:
Health care, wellness, financial or related services industry work experience.
Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
Application development in a security-driven industry.
Health care trends and data a plus.
Single Sign On (SSO) methodologies including SAML standards.
Broad familiarity with Content Management and publication tools and methods.
General knowledge of front-end (HTML & Graphics) coding and principles.
Microsoft Office Professional software tools (Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint).
Advanced software development skills.
.NET development.
MS SQL/Stored Procedures.
SAAS and SOA development.
HTML, AJAX, CSS.
PHP/MySQL/Mobile app development a plus.
Handle multiple priorities.
Exercise sound judgment.
Discuss requirements with all levels of HWI and clients as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Understand and interpret business drivers.
Communicate technical issues to non-technical colleagues.
