Job Description:

Research, design, develop and maintain web-based grant management application for the National Institutes of Health. Develop code in Java. Maintain existing code through bug fixes and enhancements. Provide production support. Unit test Java code and manipulate data for analysis of system requirements. Use Oracle, Java, J2EE, Eclipse, XML and Rational ClearCase.

 

The candidate will be responsible for creating maintainable, scalable, defect free code. He/She will provide direction in creating service side components, integrating existing services and continually incorporate best development practices such as test driven development, agile practices and software patterns. The candidate will present concepts using UML and be willing to challenge other team member's designs as well as receive and incorporate feedback. This is a hands-on coding position with a focus in J2EE Web technologies and Oracle 11g database.

 

The Developer may be responsible for overseeing team efforts, providing strategic technical direction, establishing and recommending changes.

 

Qualifications:

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS: Bachelor's degree in a related technical field and 12+ years related technical experience or a Master's Degree in a related technical field and 10+ years of related experience.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS: The candidate must have experience in:

• Java 1.7

• Tomcat 7.0

• Web framework (Spring MVC)

• Persistence Frameworks knowledge – Spring frameworks and Hibernate

• Windows Server 2008

• Javascript

• Web services ( XML, JAXP, JAXB, JAX-WS, AXIS, JERSEY, AJAX, JSON, CXF, REST and SOAP)

• AJAX, JQuery

• CSS3, HTML5
