 Sr. Project Manager

10 Months Contract

Rocky Hill, CT

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

Manage multiple technical delivery streams in Big Data technology projects.

Engage multiple teams and stakeholders from intake to delivery

Present to senior management solutions, status and program plans

 

Lead team of developers, IT leads as needed

Focus on big picture and the program (less on the project) and manage vision and solutions at the program level

Hands on with technology and solve business problems using the solutions available to the organization

Present solutions, architectures, technology vision, roadmap to senior stakeholders

Development using Hadoop MapReduce, HBase, Hive, Elastic Search

Design and development using Java development stack with Web Services, Spring framework, Hibernate, Angular JS, Aspect Oriented Programing (AOP), JSF & Rich Faces, and test driven development

Development in an Agile methodology with strong team work

Designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and supporting all types of decommissioning applications consistent with established specifications and business requirements to deliver business value

Ensure timely and quality delivery as per release plan.

Assesses and interprets customer needs and requirements.

Participate in meetings/walkthrough session/group meetings to understand business problem/objective of project

Translates concepts into practice.

Proven ability to quickly learn new technologies & leverage them to execute on the use cases given to solve business problems

Acts as a resource for others with less experience.

Build a relationship with project stakeholders/ business partners.

 

Ensure compliance with organization and project defined standards and processes

Supporting existing application on Production.

 

Required Qualifications

10+ years of experience in information systems development

2+ years of experience on Big Data Technology

5+ years in management role presenting to senior management and stakeholders

Experience in relationship management, stakeholder management

5+ years in senior architect and/or program management role

5+ years in design and development using one or more of the these technologies Java development stack with Web Services, Mark Logic, Spring framework, Hibernate, Angular JS, Aspect Oriented Programing (AOP), JSF & Rich Faces, and test driven development

1+ years of experience Development using Hadoop MapReduce, HBase, Pig, Hive

Hands on IT development background

Very strong presentation and communication skills

Very strong in translating concepts into professional power points for communication

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access) Health care industry experience1+ years proven experience with data archiving 1+ years of relevant experience in designing, developing and implementing ETL solutions. 5+ years' experience with Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server Databases 2+ years ETL experience and verification utilizing SQL querying skills (PL/SQL, Toad or other tool) and formal testing methodologies
