Job Description:
As part of the DB2 LUW team, will be accountable for database administration, design, build and tune mission critical DB2 UDB ESE and DPF environments. Help DB2 LUW team in providing better technical solution for United Health in general and our customer in particular.

Roles and Responsibilities:
-Proficient problem solving and fact finding skills
-Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
-Ability to define the complete technical infrastructure environment
-Ability to review ongoing and proposed projects to identify opportunities for reuse and process improvement
-Ability to review project deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance with established project standards
-Ability to document and communicate the status of progress against plans, taking corrective action as necessary
-Ability to identify, clarify, and resolve project activity issues and risks, escalating them as needed
-Ability to review technical documentation to verify compliance with client requirements and established architectural standards and guidelines
-Participate in 24x7 oncall support

Required Skills
-6+ years of db2 UDB database administration experience
-3+ years of strong UNIX background
-3+ years of scripting experience
-Strong business/technology decision-making skills
-Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience

Desired but not required:
-Experience building Data Warehouses and physical data modeling
-Professional experience in the healthcare industry is preferred

Qualifications
-Relevant Bachelor's Degree such as Computer Science, Math, Economics, Engineering, Actuarial Science, or Statistics, or equivalent experience
-3+ years of Sr. DB2 LUW administrator with strong AIX/zLinux background
-Understand the systems development process and have a solid understanding of business processes
-Proven analytic skills and strong judgment, Strong analytical and communication skills; works effectively with others
-Strong judgment, and ability to work effectively with team/others and share knowledge to ensure team success
-Demonstrated diagnostic skills
-Excellent communication skills
