In this critical Software Engineer role, you will be a responsible for the overall health and execution of software delivery in a highly -performant distributed environment for distributed applications on cloud platforms. Your technological guidance will serve as the crux of a successful transition into a Platform and Software as a Service Model across a variety of responsive web and native applications.

You will own our build/deploy/release pipeline including the associated tool chain and will help to drive efficiency and consistency in our processes. In this role, you will help build a mentality of Excellence within our Engineering competency by, defining best practices in Software Engineering from solutioning through production, and ultimately, help to change the face of health care and help people live healthier lives.

The successful candidate will have experience in the development of distributed systems, extensive technical skills, good communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment.

We are looking for an Software Engineer with the following skills:

0-4 years of experience building and shipping production software in a scaled distributed environment
Solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals (based on a BS or MS in CS or related field).
Knowledge of a variety of modern programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Objective C, Rails, Node), open-source technologies (Angular, Hibernate), and database technologies (Oracle/mySQL)
Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Deployment Strategies

Preferred Qualifications:

Graduate Degree
Healthcare industry experience
Experience in the building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Experience working with NoSQL database technologies (Hadoop/Mongo)
Experience developing Unit Tests using tools such as JUnit, NUnit, MSTest to verify your code quality
Experience with RESTful Web Services
Experience with Identity Management/Authentication Protocols (Single Sign-On, SAML, OAUTH)
Desire to continuously improve and evolve our infrastructure to be easy to deploy, scalable, secure and resilient

Summary: Risk Management has a need for an experienced, seasoned software developer to design and develop high quality software solutions. This is not a front-end role, the candidate will be responsible for implementing back-end processes in an efficient, easily maintainable manner using good design patterns. Ideal candidate will have significant experience in middle-tier design. Due to the market- and time-sensitive nature of the application and its criticality to the business, the senior software developer professional must have 8+ years' experience in design and development, preferably in the financial services industry.
These purposeful abstractions must enable efficient retargeting of the analytic capabilities to other parts of the business. Risk Management is expanding its analytic capabilities to other parts of the insurance, annuities, asset management, and fund management business and needs the analytic platform to quickly adapt to the new requirements. The abstractions must also enable a quick adaptation to new requirements generated from things learned from market events. The candidate will also need to have an extensive track record in hands-on implementation of robust code in a C# .NET framework, with experience in optimized code in native C a major plus for consideration.
Risk Management operates a complex Monte Carlo simulation application that performs billions of operations on millions of records daily to forecast financial impacts on the company. The results are relied upon each morning by the business prior to the opening of the US financial markets that supports decisions to cover exposures in our financial products.

Required:
- Must have 8+ years of hands-on implementation of robust code in a C# .NET framework, with experience in optimized code in native C a major plus for consideration.
- Must have a proven, extensive background in designing system abstractions that support software and system evolution.
- Solid understanding of Inversion of Control and Dependency Injection Principles, experience in IoC Containers like Castle Windsor, Unity or NInject
- Experience in writing unit tests using NUnit or MSTest
- Experience in Mocking Frameworks like Moq, NMock, etc.
- Good understanding of various Design Patterns
- Microsoft SQL Server SQL, Stored Procedures, SSIS, and other data management tools
- Visual Studio 2010, C#, .NET, SqlClient, C/C++ and other application development tools
- Team Foundation Server, source code control, release management in a n-tiered environment
- Agile, Rapid Application Deployment, and similar methodologies
