Title: Senior Splunk Lead / Technical Architect

Duration: 6-12 months

Multiple Locations: SF, CA; Seattle, WA; NYC, NY/NJ, Chicago, IL and Boston, MA

Qualifications:

Summary

Seeking senior Splunk Leads and Architects for multiplewith projects. You have the vision to help our clients find unique and interesting ways to leverage Splunk.  These senior Splunk Leads/Architects will work as a Splunk product domain expert, supporting customer implementation projects and be responsible for the design and implementation of Splunk infrastructure, deployment, products, apps, reports, alerts, and dashboards.  The Splunk Leads/Architects will also manage Splunk knowledge objects (Apps, Dashboards, Saved Searches, Scheduled Searches, Alerts, etc.) and will be tasked with thinking about how to take Splunk and apply it to data beyond log files.

Required Qualifications

• Previous training and preferably 2-3 full projects with hands-on experience with Splunk

• Experience assessing systems addition to log correlation engines, including network and storage capacity and QOS routing requirements

• Experience designing and implementing enterprise Splunk platforms

• Knowledge of scripting (SH, BASH, KSH, PowerShell, etc.) with at least two years exposure to these environments

• 7-10 years of prior hands-on experience in IT systems administration on Windows or UNIX platforms (RH Linux, SUSE Linux, HP-UX, Solaris, or equivalent); experience must include specific expertise in using the command line to execute program installation and configuration

• 3 years of experience working with Splunk and database query languages (T-SQL or equivalent) or experience with a widely available reporting tools

• Excellent troubleshooting skills and strong technical learning aptitude

• Understanding of TCP/IP and networking

Preferred Qualifications

• Splunk Certification

• Amazon AWS exposure

• Operational experience with a wide array of networking, relational database, security, or server virtualization technologies

• Experience with Virtualization technologies (VMware ESX, MS Hyper-V)

• Some exposure and experience in one or more of the following programming languages:  Java, C++, Python, Ruby, or Perl

• Experience with Regular Expressions (REGEX)

• Microsoft or Linux certifications

Desired Qualifications

• Very good verbal and written communication skills and documentation skills

• Ability to work collaboratively within the Splunk analytics team and to work independently

• Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently

• Very good interpersonal and leadership skills

• Ability to work with customer stakeholders and define their needs and translate those needs into Splunk queries and dashboards

Minimum 4 year BA/BS
