Primary Skills:database storage, retrieval and customization; relationship database design and management of relational databases
As a Sr. DB Development Software Engineer, you will specialize in architecting, programming and working with noSQL and SQL database platforms. You will build core technology that will enable the delivery of new and revolutionary class of services to millions of Internet users.
Responsibilities:• Develop and maintain complex distributed database applications• Design tools and technologies to analyze, aggregate, backup/restore and mine data• Design and develop low latency/high throughput data management components to handle large volume of transactions• Be a key member of an elite engineering team that delivers high-performance, reliable software, services and APIs to one of the largest cloud networking infrastructure in the world• Present and defend architectural, design, and technical choices to internal and external audiences.
• 7-10+ years' work experience or equivalent programming in one or more of the following: Python, C/C++, Java• 5+ years' experience with database query languages, storage techniques and performance consideration for high transactional volume of data• Extensive experience building highly available and redundant database applications at scale with NoSQL and SQL databases (Cassandra and MySQL preferred)• Experience with data aggregation and analysis techniques using technologies such as Hadoop and HBase• Solid understanding of algorithm complexity, parallel/distributed systems, advanced data structures, computer networking and operating systems• Assist in the development of tools and techniques for data access, retention and security• Prior experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies• Proficiency with Python, Django, RabbitMQ a plus• Start-up environment experience• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. Master's preferred.
