UI/Front End Developer

Location: Austin, TX

Duration: 6 Months+

Job Responsibilities:

This role is responsible for coding and modifying interactive elements contained within assessment items, from layout to function and according to a client's specifications. Must create visually appealing interactive elements that feature user-friendly design and clear navigation, while properly capturing data input by user.

Job Duties:

· Develop new user-facing features

· Build reusable code and libraries for future use

· Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs

· Optimize code for maximum speed and scalability in the prescribed environment

· Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to the back-end processing systems for evaluation

· Create quality mockups and prototypes on tight timelines

· The position requires constant communication and collaboration with other team members and stakeholders

· Provide guidance and training for other staff on implementation of javascript code and libraries

Skills and Qualifications:

· Candidate must have a strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards

· Experience in planning and delivering software platforms used across multiple products and organizational units

· Deep expertise and hands on experience with Web Applications and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and version control software (Git / Stash)

· Experience with JQuery, JQuery plugins, JQueryUI, and JQueryUI widgets

· Understands the performance implications of frameworks such as JQuery on the application environment. Must take into account how the interactive elements will perform in the delivery environment

· Desire to work in a team environment, sharing best practices for libraries and coding patterns, version control

· 3+ years of professional front-end web page and javascript development experience, including responsive design and mobile-oriented websites

· B.S. in Computer Science or related field, or commensurate real-world experience

Big Data Lead for Data Lake

Positions: 2

Primary Responsibilities:

Performing all phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, application design, code development and testing

Designing and implement product features in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders

Designing reusable Java components, frameworks and libraries

Working very closely with Architecture group and driving solutions

Design and develop solutions to meet the needs of the Loading Data lake

Implement the data management Framework for building Data Lake for Optum.

Support the implementation and drive it to stable state in production

Provide alternate design solutions along with project estimates

Reviewing code and providing feedback relative to best practices, improving performance etc.

Troubleshooting production support issues post-deployment and come up with solutions as required

Demonstrate substantial depth of knowledge and experience in a specific area of Big Data and Java development

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

10 consecutive years in the software engineering profession

5+ years hands-on expertise with UNIX shell scripts and commands

5+ years hands-on expertise with SQL writing queries and RDBMS

3+ years hands-on expertise with Big data technologies (HBASE, HIVE, SQOOP, PIG,)

3+ Agile/Scrum methodology

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated expertise in Java programming and frameworks

Splunk and Talend

§ Candidate must have advanced/expert skill/experience in the following:

§ Experience engineering enterprise-level software solutions 

§ JavaScript and JavaScript MV* frameworks, e.g., Angular, React

§ HTML5, CSS3, and associated tools/best practices

§ Creating and/or integrating RESTful Services and API's  

Candidate should have intermediate skill/experience with the following:

Job Summary – "About the Position":

Reporting directly to the Systems Administrative Manager, this position is responsible for providing technical support to users and assists with deployment and support of desktop computers, applications, and related technology. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Solid experience with Windows 7 & 8
MS Office 365
