Essential Skills

· MUST have Teradata & Informatica experience with 6+ years

· Demonstrates strong problem solving skills.

· Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills.

· Experience on support of production applications

· Ability to work independent on the applications.

· Strong Teradata, Informatica, UNIX Shell Scripting and WLM

· Interest in learning and approaches quickly with little or no formal training

Key Responsibilities

· Full support of production applications.

· Ensure application Service Level Agreements are exceeded by maintaining ownership of incidents through resolution.

· Identify areas for system improvement and communicate with development team.

· Drive efforts to proactively identify application or system issues improving availability and performance

· Possible overtime and schedule changes based on application needs occasional night and weekend work required

HIGHLY PREFER STATE GOVERNMENT EXPERIENCE - MAKE NOTE IN SUBMITTAL IF CANDIDATE HAS GOVERNMENT EXPERIENCE.

Short Description:

Oracle Developer responsible for PL/SQL and SQL programming, development, business analysis. Requires working knowledge of application architecture, analysis and design.

Complete Description:

Specific tasks/deliverables and skills for this position include the following:

1. Review Functional and Technical requirements for clarity.

2. Research and analyze existing business documents and processes, including forms and reports, and assist in making recommendations about improvements to processes.

3. Business Rule identification and validation.

4. Assist with the Application design and analysis as well as provide input to the Database design.

5. Document application design and system architecture in accordance with NC DPI standards.

6. PL/SQL development and SQL programming, code documentation and unit testing.

7. Web development experience required.

8. Integration design for data exchange, import and export.

9. Enhance the data model and write stored procedures.

10. Build technical deliverables as directed by Project Manager and the Applications Development/Data Management Team Manager.

11. Report creation and validation (including record control counts, validation checks, etc. per specifications).

12. Resolve any issues found in functional, performance, regression or acceptance testing.

13. Document all technical deliverables (e.g. database schemas, file extracts, intermediate tables/files, reports, processes, procedures, scripts, etc.) as built.

14. Document the data retrieval methods via ETL, FTP and other means utilized to include source, destination, schedule and job controls.

15. Perform training to NC DPI support staff for the maintenance/support of technical deliverables built.

16. Any other duties as determined needed by the Project Manager and/or the Applications Development/Data Management Team Manager with regards to developing data extracts, ETL processes, reports, etc.

Application Developer and DBA tasks completed in accordance with DPI's project methodology and to the satisfaction of the Project Manager and Applications Development/Data Management Team Manager.

Assignments are completed accurately and in a timely manner as determined and agreed to by management involved with the assignment of the tasks/deliverables.
